Advocacy program for parents and special educators

Today ( 28th October) we are organising an advocacy program in which 20 parents and 10 special educators will participate. Generally I have seen most of our efforts in such programs follow a 3A pattern namely awareness, advocacy and accommodation . Let me expand this - we create awareness of the need for education for CWDs, do advocacy for education in schools and finally accommodate admission and charity assistance. Recently an educational officer who visited one of our program explained all assistance child will get in a school. My teacher who briefed me after his visit stated , the officer did not say a word about getting education. She asked , why we do not talk about the educational skills the child will get in schools. This is because we professional accommodate the admission as a great victory. Yes admission is a great achievement. It is time to talk about skill based education. Hence in tomorrow's program we follow 3As- namely awareness, advocacy and ACTION. If you have suggestions please share it.
